About Reyns Japanese

The Japanese textbooks don’t teach you
is the Japanese you actually need.

Reyns Japanese is a fully-customized, one-on-one online Japanese school. We don’t hand you a textbook and a fixed curriculum. Instead, your dedicated coach studies your goals — the exact conversations you want to have, the moments where you’ve felt stuck — and builds your lessons around them.

From a taxi driver greeting Tokyo tourists, to a business professional running a meeting in Osaka, to a traveler ordering omakase at a counter — we get you speaking confidently in the situations that matter to you.

日本語
Is this you?

Tired of studying Japanese that never gets used?

You’ve tried apps, textbooks, group classes — and still freeze the moment a real conversation starts. Sound familiar?

“I’m planning a trip to Japan and I want to talk to locals — really talk, not just point at menus.”
“My restaurant gets more Japanese guests every month. I want to give them proper omotenashi.”
“I’ve been doing Duolingo for two years and I still can’t hold a conversation.”
“I just got transferred to Tokyo for work. I need to negotiate, present, and run meetings in Japanese — fast.”
“My partner is Japanese and I want to speak naturally with their family.”
“I love anime and J-dramas, but I want to understand what’s actually being said.”

From travel to business to everyday connection,
we build the exact Japanese you need with situation-specific lessons.

Why Reyns Japanese

Three things that change everything.

Other schools teach Japanese. We coach you — your goals, your situations, your pace.

特徴 ONE

100% Customized Lessons

No fixed textbook. No one-size-fits-all curriculum. Every lesson is built around the exact conversations you need — whether that’s giving directions in a Kyoto taxi or pitching a deal in a Tokyo boardroom.

02
特徴 TWO

Dedicated Coach & Study Plan

Your teacher is also your study consultant. They build your roadmap, track your progress, and adjust your plan as you grow. One person who knows your story end-to-end.

The Difference

Reyns Japanese vs. traditional schools

Why our students reach fluency faster — and actually enjoy the journey.

Traditional Schools

Generic textbooks. Generic results.

  • Fixed curriculum that ignores your real-life situations
  • Separate teacher and study advisor — neither sees the full picture
  • Group classes where you barely get to speak
  • Homework that doesn’t connect to your goals
  • Progress feels invisible — and motivation fades
vs
Reyns Japanese

Built around your life. Coached to fluency.

  • Lessons designed around the exact conversations you need
  • One dedicated coach who plans, teaches, and tracks everything
  • Pure 1-on-1 — every minute is yours, every word counts
  • Custom homework tied directly to your real-world goals
  • Visible progress, weekly check-ins, and constant momentum
Use Cases

Built for your Japanese — whatever it looks like.

Three of the most common journeys our students take. Yours might be different — and that’s exactly the point.

01 Hospitality
For Hospitality & Service

Welcome Japanese guests with confidence.

For taxi drivers, hotel staff, restaurant owners, retail workers — anyone serving Japanese customers. Master keigo, omotenashi, and the natural phrases that turn one-time visitors into regulars.

  • Greeting guests with proper keigo
  • Explaining menus, fares, directions
  • Handling complaints with grace
02 Travel
For Travelers

Travel deeper. Connect further.

For travelers who want more than survival phrases. Order at the omakase counter, chat with locals at the izakaya, navigate rural train stations — and walk away with stories, not just photos.

  • Ordering at restaurants & markets
  • Asking for recommendations from locals
  • Handling unexpected situations on the road
03 Business
For Business Professionals

Lead, present, and negotiate in Japanese.

For expats, executives, and consultants working with Japanese teams. From business keigo to meishi exchange to leading a presentation — close deals and build trust in the language of your partners.

  • Business meetings & presentations
  • Email and chat in formal Japanese
  • Negotiating, networking, leading teams
Student Voices

What our students actually say.

Real students. Real progress. Real conversations they couldn’t have a few months ago.

“I’d done Duolingo for two years and could barely order coffee. After three months with Reyns, I held a 30-minute conversation with my partner’s grandmother at our first dinner together. She cried. So did I.”

David

“Our hotel started getting more Japanese guests last year and I felt useless. My coach built every lesson around real situations from my shifts. Now Japanese guests ask for me by name. Best investment I’ve made in my career.”

“I got transferred to Tokyo with three months notice and zero Japanese. Reyns built me a brutal but brilliant business-Japanese plan. I led my first all-Japanese client meeting after six months. Felt like a different person.”

Sarah

“On my last trip to Japan I spent two weeks in tiny villages, talking to fishermen, farmers, ryokan owners. None of them spoke English. I wrote my best travel piece ever. None of those conversations would have been possible without Reyns.

FAQ

Common questions, honest answers.

I’m a complete beginner. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Many of our students start from zero — never written a hiragana, never said konnichiwa. Your coach builds your plan from exactly where you are, at exactly your pace.
What time zones do you support?
We have coaches available across most major time zones — Asia-Pacific, Europe, Americas. When you book your trial we’ll match you with a coach whose schedule fits yours.
Can I choose the same lesson day and time every week?
Yes — and we strongly recommend it. Fixing your weekly slot is one of the biggest reasons students stick with Japanese long-term. If something comes up, you can always reschedule.
What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?
As long as you let us know at least 3 hours before your lesson, we’ll happily reschedule. After that, the lesson is counted as taken.
Do I need any special apps or software?
No special tools required. Lessons run on Zoom or your preferred video platform. All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet space.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and bank transfer. Billing is monthly, and you can cancel anytime — no long-term contracts.
Will I really speak Japanese? Or just learn about it?
You’ll speak. A lot. Our entire method is built around real conversations from day one. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced as tools you immediately use — not as theory you store and forget.
